The Master of Computer Application curriculum spreads over six semesters which includes courses for five semesters aimed at transmitting the broad spectrum of knowledge as indicated below and one semester internship in reputed organizations. There are 24 core theory courses, 3 elective courses and 14 practical courses which a student has to clear including the core subjects like Operating systems, Computer Networks, Databases, Mathematical foundation of Computer Science, Computer System Design, Software Engineering, Object Oriented Systems and elective subjects like Cryptography and Network Security, Mobile Computing, Distributed Systems and subjects that are interdisciplinary in nature such as Principles of Management, Professional Communication, Human Values and Professional Ethics. Most of these courses cover analytical, mathematical, data modeling based objective and descriptive problems and their solutions. The practical lab work is an integral part of MCA program. The lab sessions are organized with a group of maximum 20 students. The practical lab work contributes towards design and conducts experiments, as well as to organize, analyze, and interpret data in numerous ways. This also incorporates the ability to design and construct software systems, components, or processes to meet desired needs, within given constraints.
