The minimum qualification is B.E. / B.Tech with 50% of any recognized university or any other equivalent recognized examination.

New Post Graduate course was introduced subsequently in the year 2006 and the existing ones were restructured to reflect the changing needs of the industry and now bodes state of the art facilities. The Department of Electrical Engineering has adequate number faculty members. Around 50 % faculty members are pursuing M.Tech programmes. The department attracts some of the brightest students from all over india. The department is headed by energetic and dynamic Er Harpreet Singh (B.E, M.Tech) since the last six years. He takes valuable guidance and direction from Prof Manab Sen Gupta (Prof I/C of EE Deptt) for affirmative action’s at his end. The department offers a M. Tech programme. The placement record has always been very impressive of EE students. Many students hold prestigious posts in MNCs and several blue-chip companies. Students also find good openings in companies like L&T, Punj Llyod, Reliance Power, BHEL, NTPC as well as the czar’s of Indian IT Sector like Infosys, TCS, IBM and Wipro etc. Our students have won many laurels in national and international forums and have published papers in prestigious journals. The department has state-of-the-art laboratories in Power Electronics and Control, Electrical Drives and Control, Electrical Machines with the recent addition of Renewable Energy Lab. With the focus of the central and state government to impart 24*7 power for all villages in times to come the future of Electrical Engineering hold immense promise. Also with India on a cusp of unprecedented growth trajectory the role of Power Engineers will be more and more in demand as India will be attracting investment to the tune of One Trillion Dollars (Rs 60.0 Lakhs Crores in Next 5-10 years) so as to build its infrastructure in areas of Power, Roads, Ports and Airports.
