Age: Candidate Shall be born on or after 1st July 1992. Educational Qualification: A pass in the Higher Secondary (plus two) examination or its equivalent of a recognized Board securing 60% or above marks in Mathematics, 55% or above separately in any one and Chemistry with an aggregate of 60% in the three subjects. (OR) A three year Diploma in Engineering with minimum 60% marks, awarded by any state Board of technical Education or its equivalent. Seat allotment through Counselling will be based on the Eligibility and rank obtained by the candidate in the Amrita Entrance Examination - Engineering 2013 Note: Those who appear for the above examinations in March/April 2013 and expect to secure minimum marks as above, may also apply.

4 Years, Full Time, Under Graduate Degree

The Amrita School of Engineering at Amrita began offering the B.Tech. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2005. Student intake doubled to 120 by 2009. Apart from technical courses, the students are also encouraged to register for foreign language electives such as French, German or Japanese to equip them to be global industry players. The curriculum is updated from time to time as per the recommendations of the Board of Studies. This ensures that the students are at pace with the advances in technology. The department focuses on overall development of the students imparting soft skills through Projects and Seminar presentations and by encouraging Student's Association Activities and Industrial visits. Value education and Professional ethics are also an integral part of the curriculum. Department faculty members actively supported the European Union funded research project, WINSOC, where a wireless sensor network was deployed for prediction of landslides. The technology deployed had several advantages over conventional technologies in terms of cost, size and power consumption.
