Shall have secured a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the following : Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Electronics, Information Science. AIT admits students as per prevailing rules and regulations of VTU.

Manufacturing Engineering is a multi-disciplinary activity comprising mechanical properties and metallurgical characteristics of materials, process analysis, tribology, machine tools, other production equipments and processes. Manufacturing Engineering is a systematic process of converting raw materials into semi finished or finished goods. Manufacturing is considered as a backbone of any country, as a country's level of manufacturing activity is directly related to its economy. This programme encompasses many processes that enable an engineer to optimize the resources available in order to produce a quality product at the most economical cost and meet the requirements of users. Faculty members are involved in research in the field of CAD/CAM/CIM/ROBOTICS, rapid prototyping, composite materials.
