Information Technology is an interdisciplinary field primarily concerned with the analysis, collection, classification, manipulation, storage, retrieval and dissemination of information. Information Technology focuses on understanding problems from the perspective of the stakeholders involved and then applying information and other technologies as needed. To create the Information Technocrats, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology pioneer the Department of Information Technology in the year 2002 with the sanctioned intake of 60 students.
