The Placement Team provides students with a platform to constantly stay in touch with the corporate world by means of live projects, summer projects and final placements. Of course, no work is complete without team-work. Their commitment for the students is reflected in the rising quality of placements that students get every year. Placements for the final year students happen in the placement season. A wide spectrum of organisations visits SRCC campus.

Class Rooms & Tutorials SRCC is the only college in the University of Delhi who has upgraded its class rooms to facilitate teaching through modern gadgets by shifting from traditional style of teaching. All the classrooms and tutorial rooms in the college are fully air-conditioned. The class-rooms have been upgraded with ceiling-mounted LCD projectors, roll-down screens, green boards and podium for faculty. Library The college library is spacious with seating capacity for about 300 readers. It is well-stocked and presently has a collection of over 65 thousand volumes on different subjects. Latest publications in the fields of business studies, economics, humanities and social sciences are continuously added to the collection to equip students with a wide range of academic material. The College Library is fully automated and provides user services through computer. SRCC library is the first library in the University of Delhi having Wi Fi facility. Computer Centres The College has two well-equipped Computer Centers. Both the centers are provided with 40 computers, each with updated software and hardware. Internet facilities are provided in each computer. Printing and scanning facilities are also available with each computer through network. Each center is equipped with uninterrupted power backup. SPORTS The College has extensive playing grounds, a swimming pool, tennis court, gymnasium, indoor badminton court, basketball court, lawn tennis court, etc. The College has been excelling in sports for over two decades. Every year the College holds Sports Carnival, Inter-class matches and Sports Day. SWIMMING POOL SRCC is the only college in the North Campus having swimming pool facility. The swimming pool opens during summer season only. The swimming pool is properly maintained and coaching facilities are also provided to newcomers. Hostel. The College has limited accommodation facilities for boys and girl. The college has two separate hostels for boys and girls on the campus itself. There is a big mess and common room in both the hostels. The messes are run on co-operative basis. Seminar Room A state-of-the-art Platinum Jubilee Seminar Room is an addition to the existing infrastructure, constructed on the occasion of the College’s Platinum Jubilee in 2000–2001. It is fully air-conditioned with LCD projection facilities. Auditorium The College has a big auditorium with over 750 persons seating capacity. The auditorium is equipped with lighting and sound systems. All important functions are organized in the college auditorium.

Early in the year 1920, on Basant Panchami day, seven leading businessmen in Delhi established the Commercial Education Trust. The first school that was set up by the Trust in the same year was the Commercial School, and then located in Charkhewalan in the crowded walled city of Delhi. This was the predecessor of the Commercial College and in a way the beginning of commerce education in Delhi. Commerce education in India began in 1886, for in that year a commercial school was set up in Madras. Commercial institutions were also started in Bombay and Calcutta between 1903 and 1912. At the Collegiate level or the University level the journey began with the establishment of the Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics in Bombay in 1913. The Commercial School in Delhi introduced a post-matriculation Diploma programme in Commerce under the supervision of Mr. R.K. Kumar, who later was to become the first Principal of the Commercial College (later rechristened as Shri Ram College of Commerce), after its affiliation to the University of Delhi in 1926. The Commercial College heralded the entry of Commerce education in the university system of Delhi. The initial funds for setting up of the College came from the Dewan Chand Trust. The University accorded recognition to the College for preparing students for its Intermediate Examination (Commerce Group). Enrolment of the first batch of students was made on the first floor of a ‘Hall’ opposite the St. James’ Church at Kashmere Gate. Classes started with 12 students and four faculty members from a hired bungalow at 8, Darya Ganj, New Delhi.
